SAMPLE #74 WRITING TASK 1(20 MINS)(AT LEAST 150 WORDS)(GENERAL TRAINING)

You have had a bank account for a few years. Recently, you received a letter from the bank stating that your account is $240 overdrawn and that you will be charged $70 which will be taken directly from your account. You know that this information is incorrect. Write a letter to the bank. Explain what has happened and say what you would like them to do about it. You do not need to write any addresses. Begin your letter with Dear Sir,

SAMPLE ANSWER:

Dear Sir,

This is Jeff Anderson and I am holding an account in your bank. This is regarding the penalty of 70$ which was imposed on me due to the overdrawn amount of 240$.

Firstly, I would like to highlight that there was no overdrawn from my side. I have been monitoring my bank account for last 10 years and it has never happened that I crossed the allocated withdrawn limit. I suspect it could be some technical issue from your side due to which I received this letter from your bank stating incorrect information. Moreover, I am very much disappointed by looking into the penalty which occurred due to this incident.

I would request you to look into this matter and check all the transaction details which happened on my account in last one month. Kindly send me the copy of all transaction details to my mailing address.

Thanks for your help and assistance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours Faithfully
Jeff Anderson

SAMPLE #73 WRITING TASK[AC/GT]

SAMPLE #73 WRITING TASK 2(40 MINS)(AT LEAST 250 WORDS)(GENERAL TRAINING/ACADEMICS)

As most people spend a major part of their adult life at work, job satisfaction is an important element of individual wellbeing. What factors contribute to job satisfaction. How realistic is the expectation of job satisfaction for all workers? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

SAMPLE ANSWER:

Nowadays many adults have full-time jobs and the proportion of their lives spent doing such jobs is very high. So feeling about one's job must reflect how an individual feels about his or her life as a whole, and because of this, job satisfaction is indeed very important for the well being of that person.

Employees get job satisfaction in a number of ways. Firstly, a person needs to feel that they are doing valued and valuable work, so positive feedback from superiors is very important in this respect. A sense of fulfillment is also encouraged if a worker feels the job is worth doing because it contributes to the society or the economy as a whole. Secondly, when someone feels they are improving or developing their skills through training opportunities, for example, then there is a sense of progression and purpose that rewards a worker. The sense of belonging to a team or a working community also contributes to job satisfaction because colleagues help each other to enjoy their working lives. Satisfaction is also increased by a sense of responsibility for and loyalty to a team.

Of course not everyone enjoys their work. Hard economic realities mean that many people have little choice in the kind of job they can get. In some cases, an employee is working in a job that suits neither their skills nor their personality. Some jobs are repetitive and boring, and labor relations may be poor and lead to resentment and insecurity rather than to job satisfaction.

However, even though it is unlikely that all workers do feel happy in their work, I think it is not unrealistic to promote more job satisfaction in any job. If the factors identified above are implemented, then any job can be improved and more workers can feel greater degrees of job satisfaction(304 Words, Band 6.5)
