Especially in the section 1 of the listening test,we will given a question in which we need to fill in a name of a person or city name or street address or any other information related with alphabets.So lets see how will we tackle it.

In almost all the case the spelling will be told by the speaker for example: - Is your name spelled L-i-n or L-y-n-n or is it Lynne with an 'e' for the name Lynne.
So whenever you hear such alphabet questions,write down the two alternative spelling for each word.That is for example,
1.Tomas   Thomas  for Thomas
2.Maine    Main   for Main
3.Patty    Patti  for Patty
4.Chang    Chan   for Chang
5.Nixon    Dixson for Nixon
