 Many cases,they may not be using the same word as given the question and will be using a synonym or a word with the similar meaning that of the word under consideration in the question statement.So understand the words which are similar in meaning will also help to the answer the question correctly.

For example the question may be:--
The number of  respondents who participated in the survey are ......

In the audio it may be :-- The number of survey participants who participated were 33.

Here in the question the word or synonym used was respondents while in the audio it was participants.So if we prepare to listen to the audio for the word respondents, it may not available there.Instead you should go for the word with the similar meaning as of the question.
