Many people make friends through social sites and chat rooms. Others believe that it is not a good idea to make friends without meeting them face to face. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Recently, social network websites are used to make many friends. Few people believe that this is not a good medium and also agree that meeting friends face to face is very important. Some thoughts on this have been discussed below.
The usage of many social networks has been increased from since a couple of years thereby increasing the communication between people. One of the important group of people, one would like to interact a lot is “Friends” and social network is helping to make friends as there is no location constraint. For example, people staying at different locations are still connected via Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Moreover, people can share their emotions with their friends, irrespective of time and location. For instance, a friend can call or message to another friend to share good news at the time they would like to express. Adding to the point, there is no planning and preparation is required to talk to a friend or to meet them.
However, the emotions expressed face to face to a friend could have more impact. For example, while sharing a joy with a friend face to face would add more happiness and doubles the celebration. Due to this a lot of memories are created and can be cherished for a lifetime and also the locations where these were created or the situation that was shared, would always be incredible. Moreover, some feelings are inexpressible and such feelings can only be felt and understood by some actions such as hugging, eye contact, crying and laughing. These emotions are easily conveyed to a friend when they meet in person and hence, the bond is very strong.
In my opinion, I tend to believe that a strong relationship can be built between friends while meeting them face-to-face than virtually.
